I drive my husband nuts

I think it's part of my charming personality.... I'm trying to be less demanding and needing things done NOW, however, Matthew is usually quite accomodating (which I greatly appreciate, darling husband). I write all this as he is working on my current project behind me. He loves having things to do and helping out. I think he's fabulous!

Above is a picture update of us.
Riley has teeth coming in and constantly has his tongue feeling them. I tied balloons up and gave my kids bats and swords to hit them with.

Also, this evening I went to a class on Tubal Ligation. It's required before I tie my tubes. I have to sign this paperwork at least 30 days before my tubes are tied and it only lasts for 6 months. I got to hear about all the possible complications and the odds of getting pregnant regardless of the procedure. Sounds lovely... I guess there are risks with everything though. Since I'm having a c-section though and the doctor's will already have me cut open I shall just have the tubes tied. For sanity sake this is best for us. Oh, and that minor detail about my uterus being too thin and 4 surgeries being too much. So medically it's necessary and I look forward to getting skinny again! Whoo Hoo!!

Levi has the lead in his Kindergarten play. He has 22 parts to memorize. That's a lot for a 5 1/2 year old. He can do it though! He also loves Math. His homework shows pictures that he is supposed to be counting and adding up to start learning how to add. We got a book for 1st-2nd grade math that is actual numbers and he is doing quite well with it. I constantly am asked "Mom, What's 39 + 12"? (or some combination of numbers). He's a smart little boy!

Dylan is trying to see what he can get away with. He ends everything still with "Do you still love me Mom?". He is super cute and OH SO busy. He really likes to color, play games, race cars, climb, and help me clean.

Riley has gone over the edge of the top bunk twice this past week so he has been banned from climbing the ladder, much to his dismay. Riley is talking more and more, loves to sing and chatter things in the car. He also runs outside any chance he gets, loves fruit snacks, and thinks anytime someone puts their shoes on that he gets to go somewhere.

On a completely different tangent, I can't believe gas is $3.75 That's crazy!!!!!! I think I had better start walking places or something. Okay. That's all. Good night.

Riley's new word

This morning as I crawled out of bed to get Riley (Levi had been up since 2am with me), I picked him up and walked back to my room intending to throw him in bed with me. He pointed to the living room and said, "Show!" (Show is what Dylan calls a television show / cartoon). Matt laughed and said that I'm a great Mom. I cringed inside, but then promptly put him in front of the TV with Dylan and Levi (it was 5:45am).
Later, as we were eating breakfast (I didn't get to go back to sleep), thankfully Riley pointed at the scriptures and grunted. Normally we read the scriptures at breakfast, however, I was comatose. Riley's reminder was a great one and I read the scriptures to them and felt that his scripture request balanced out his "show" request.

I wish I had something to blog

I don't really take the time to read blogs lately. I have very energetic children who constantly need to play a game (Dylan), do math (Levi), or be held (Riley)so I haven't really posted or read blogs. I'll get to it eventually. It's just about my bedtime because, as Matt would say, "The kids will be up in 2 hours". How true. (sad face)

So here are some pictures I took today during quiet time. These two kids are partners in crime. Dylan constantly is whispering "come here Riley, follow me". I give them their free agency and space for about 3 minutes, which is all it takes for someone to start wailing or something to come crashing to the floor. I am in for it!

No more puppy.

I admit that I failed at something. I just couldn't be a dog owner. I really tried, loved the idea, thought she was cute, but could not figure out how to balance 3 little boys, keeping the house clean, and me sane. My husband agreed yesterday that we could find a new home for her. Then, Dylan woke up with more hives today and his wheezing got worse.... Soooooo, it was settled, and my guilt was eased. It was a lovely try/attempt and now I can get back to focusing on my kids and not stressing out as much.

Helpful Dylan

Today I painted Hannah's room. It was the blue room and now it is the pink room. It looks just lovely! I started out with one shade of pink that was way too light (pictured above). It wasn't nearly bright enough, but now I have the perfect pink.

When Dylan saw the pink room he said, "Hannah likes purple, not pink." Okay...?%$#?? Well, later as I was dealing with our dog, I noticed Dylan wasn't around. I found him in Hannah's room painting the wall purple with his water colors. (The other picture above). How helpful of him. I'm thankful it washed right off. I explained to Dylan that he could not help me paint and that the room was staying PINK. Some days I just shake my head. Did I mention the room is lovely though??? It is.

If I were ever to get a dog...

Let's see... for the last 4 years Matt has been trying to get permission for us to have a dog. I've vetoed every attempt. However, I did have a student who trained dogs and she helped me see the positive side of them, etc. I've heard every positive thing about having dogs with kids, and I've imagined a few negative situations.

If I were to ever get a dog it would have to be either a golden retriever or a black labrador. Plus, it would have to be a puppy since they are much cuter and I need the dog to grow on me.

Well, look what we inherited:

A sucker is born every minute... but she's so cute. Her name is Maggie.

yuck, yuck, and more yuck

This is Dylan from a day and a half ago. He was SO SO sick. The bags around him are for throwing up in.
Now Matt is sick and Riley started barfing AGAIN. This is disgusting. I've washed so many blankets, pillow cases, and clothes. Gross, gross, gross. How do I make it stop?????
