Special Delivery

If a big box shows up on your doorstep it might be Levi. He wanted me to send him somewhere.

A swinging time!

This is Levi riding his "big boy" bike on our new driveway. He was very careful not to stop fast and leave black streaks. I do realize that they are inevitable and when we park our cars on it we will have residue. However, for the first day of activity on our driveway, Levi helped break it in. I got a lovely package in the mail from my parents!! Thank you!! It's a mother's day and birthday present. I found it quite humorous, as there are TONS of different types of stamps on it. The oldest one dates back to 1991. All those postage rate changes caused my parents to have leftovers of different costs. It's a beautiful box. I have exhibited self control and not opened the presents yet. (Yay me!)

Matt mowed the lawn today. It was quite the project. He found a dead cat among the foliage. I bought a bucket swing for Dylan off of Craigs list. These swings are normally $50+ and that doesn't include the chains. I got the whole thing for $20. It's very durable and Dylan LOVES it.
This afternoon Levi and I went to visit his Aunt Kristy and Grandpa Green and see his cousins in their plays. It was a very nice visit and so good to see them! We had a great time. It's been a very nice day!

I tried to take pictures

My boys were not at all interested, nor cooperative, as I attempted to take their pictures this morning.

The Answer

A few people have asked what gender our next baby is and when it is due. The answers:
It's another BOY and he will join us sometime toward the end of August. I prefer the dates of 8/18 or 8/22, so we'll see what happens. I am a c-section so now I just have to arrange it with my doctor. Nope, I won't tell you what we are going to name him. I'd love to hear your guesses though in the comment section!

Family Day Out

We had a fun day together. Matt mowed the front lawn while Levi and Dylan put rocks in the dirt and I weeded. It was a beautiful day outside that quickly got hot. We decided to head out and visit an art museum. Please note: this was not a "kid" art museum. I don't think Matt and I got very much out of it. Levi enjoyed the stairs and climbing on the elevated display areas (he didn't touch the art, just got really close to it). We had a docent following us the entire time... probably freaking out. Dylan just wanted to look out the windows.

After our 45 minute trip to the museum (we had a free family pass... so it wasn't a waste of money), we went to 2 different parks. The first had a lot of grass and trees and the boys ran around and we had a snack picnic. Levi declared that it wasn't really a "park" because there were no toys. We then went to a second park that didn't have toys, but instead had a water section. Levi enjoyed soaking himself while Dylan freaked out. We also saw boats race (in the local river) and that was exciting.

We then ran a few errands (Home Depot and Walmart), then went on a quest to find Ice Cream. It was a very fun day!! I sure do love my family.

Easter Friends

I always forget how much fun it is to have friends over. The Carruths came over for Sunday dinner and we had such a nice visit. Our kids play together SO well. Above is little Mr. Collin. He is so cute and the most laid back child ever.

This is Caro. I thought she looked so precious in her little white dress amidst all the grass! (okay, call them weeds... whatever).

My sweet Levi enjoying the jungle. It takes a lot of patience to get our yard to look like this.

There is never a lack of toys at our home.
Mike, Erica, and Matt.... check out our spread!! Erica brought so much food!!! Matt made a delicious ham, and I took the dessert out of the freezer...yum. I have such a hard job.

I just love my friend Erica! Thanks for coming over!!

Nice Try

Dylan woke up at about 1:30am. I quickly made it to the boys' bedroom and fed him and he went to sleep.... until I put him back in his crib. Then, he started wailing. Sometimes he falls asleep after I leave the room because he knows I won't be back. Ha! Levi emerged and came to tell me that Dylan was awake. Ya... thanks. Now Levi was awake too.

So, by the time Matt came in to put Dylan back to bed, and I comforted Levi until he finally fell asleep, it was 3am. Good times!

People out there who have multiple children in a bedroom~ how the heck do you do it??? It would help if Dylan slept through the night, and normally Levi sleeps through anything. Obviously this isn't going to work out so well. I need your suggestions, please! Thank you!

The boys now share a room.

Since Dylan is still in a crib and will stay there for a while, and we have a new little guy joining our family in August, we purchased a new crib and dresser for Dylan. He loved dancing on the box. Levi is very good at helping Daddy. He likes to get his tools and hammer away!

Dylan was very happy with his new bed. Levi thinks it's great that they share a room.
The dresser. I just love Ikea and the leksvik design. Thanks for putting it all together Matt (and Levi).

Just cute pictures

The boys are playing boggle.

Dylan looks longingly outside...

There's been a lot going on...

Look at the last picture first and read this from bottom to top.... It is almost ready to get the foundation put down and rocks or something, then concrete. It decided to rain today, and possibly tomorrow, so this might be slowed down a bit. A new driveway is on its way!We had a side yard between our driveway and the neighbor's yard that previously had a very large tree in it. The tree was cut down 3 years ago and we had since hired a company to grind the stump. Ha! Well, apparently that was the biggest stump/root mess that the concrete guys have ever seen and they had to take it out with a back hoe (what is that?). We are expanding our driveway so we can park both cars on it, there will be more room for little people to ride bikes on, and so that the unsightly mess of a side yard will not leave the neighbors CONSTANTLY asking what we plan to do with that mess.
This is Levi in our driveway. We decided to get it redone. (Thank you tax refund!). Levi thought that we put all this dirt there just for him to play in. I think he was outside for an hour just being a boy. (He then got a bath).

Matt is almost done with our fence. He has two more panels to put up and posts to cut down (to make them all the same height)
Matt has worked hard at putting in a white picket fence for us. He has also spent a lot of time making the pretty brick retaining wall and installing lights in the posts as well. Notice our drive way...
