Pumpkin Patch
We went to an awesome pumpkin patch today with Levi's preschool. It was so much fun!! We went on a hay ride, a train ride, slides, saw a pig race, picked a pumpkin and explored. Levi said, "This is great!" and "This is supery good." He makes me laugh. He did take at least 15 minutes to pick his pumpkin though. None of them were quite right.

It went Thud. Crack. Squish.
I almost threw up. It was a stressful Sunday morning and I was rushing to get to church early to prepare for the Primary Program. I'm driving along and see a little squirrel dart into the street. I think... run, squirrel, run! It's a big road. He seemed so far away and Matt and I offered audible encouragement to the little guy as I slowed down to let him pass. Then, he paused. I didn't know what to do. I was in a spot that I couldn't stop at. So the squirrel went, then I went, and it didn't end well. I have never hit an animal before. It was sort of tragic. I seriously wanted to hurl.
On the way home, we saw another one dart in front of the car. Matt yelled to him the sad fate of his cousin on the other street. Luckily, the squirrel had heard and safely made it across the road.

a post from Levi
Last night I goed trick or treating. I got candy of saying trick or treat!! I was a blue dinosaur. Dylan was a blue dinosaur too. And what did Daddy be? (A Daddy).
Levi with a necklace. Hold it up and it glows. I taked it in my room and I went in your room (Mom & Dad's room) and I took it back into my room in the dark and it glowed!
Mommy and Dylan and Levi. Is he one? Is Dylan one? (Nope... he's almost 8 months old).
It's your three boys! Daddy, Levi, Dylan. See my candy basket??? I got lots of candy, but I don't like the scary kind. There was a scary dragon (it was a large, cardboard dragon and the kids had to reach into his mouth to get candy. Levi refused.) I throwed a bean bag into the mouth of a thing! (It was a pumpkin). And what else? (A Ghost). Yup, I liked last night. It was fun!
(Everything not in parenthesis was said by Levi, age 3).

A New Talent
Dylan woke me up this morning by talking and giggling. It was 1:54am. He was enthusiastically saying "Ma... Ma... Ma... Ba... Ba.. Ba.." It took an hour and 10 ounces of formula to convince him to save his new trick for the morning and go back to sleep.
It is pretty darn cute though how he says "Ma and Ba". He reaches for his bottle as he says "Ba." I like to think that the Ma is for Mom and the Ba is for Bottle. Adorable.

Today's Miracle
What do you get when you leave your 7 month old child sitting in his highchair at the table and your can of soda (sort of) within his reach? Answer: a huge mess. I know you are thinking "Duh." Well, truthfully, the can of soda was out of his reach and I guess he was tricky while I was in the kitchen. I walked back into the dining room to find Dylan splashing in the puddle of soda in front of him, soda dripping off the table and onto the floor.
Where does the miracle part come in? Well, my scriptures were on the table right next to my can of soda (we read them at breakfast and they are kind of the centerpiece to help remind me). The soda surrounded the scriptures, but did not get any part of them wet or damaged at all. That, my friend, is a miracle, and I am so grateful!

Being Swayed
Levi and I went grocery shopping on Saturday. I asked him to pick a snack for his lunches. He chose cheese cracker sandwiches with peanut butter in the middle. Yesterday, after preschool, I asked him if he wanted one of those snacks. He said, "No. They aren't cool." I said, "Excuse me?" He said, "The crackers aren't cool. " I couldn't believe that he had said that. He's never even said the word "cool" before. We then had a dialogue so I could determine what changed his mind and why. It turns out that a boy at preschool said that they aren't cool. Levi and I then discussed that what others think may be cool, may not be right. Our conversation ended with Levi saying, "Okay, Mom. I'll tell him yes they are." It was an interesting discussion. I am sad that peer pressure starts so young. At least he will still listen to me... or so he says. Let's see if he eats the crackers.

What we like to do

Nothing New
There is nothing new going on with us. However, here are pictures of my children from today. Levi said that he needed to wear his helmet (all morning) to protect his head. Okay. (?!??!??!)
Dylan is 7 months old today. He is VERY mobile, just figured out how to go up a step, has 4 teeth, and is most always happy.
We love our boys!
