Levi turns 4

Levi had a spread out birthday. Preschool sang to him on Friday and he got to be the line leader and eat cookies. On Saturday we had a swim party and BBQ with Grandma and Grandpa. Levi and his cousin Mandorallyn have the same birthday so it was a joint celebration. Then, when his actual birthday came on Tuesday, he got to play with his Green cousins and see his other dad, Kyle. Levi had a GREAT weekend! Building with Grandma.
A birthday dinner: Chicken nuggets and green beans. Yum!

Playing soccer with his new cleats, ball, and shin guards... per his request. The highlight of his birthday gift stash was a new Hot Wheels bike from Grandma and Grandpa, and an automatic pitching T-ball machine from Kyle and Annie. Thank you everyone!

This is the swim party and BBQ at the park.
A dear friend, Brandon Kaan, came to the birthday party with his family (wife Jennifer, two kids and a baby on the way).
Levi and Mandorallyn (Maddie) with their requested birthday cakes.

Levi liked his race car cake even though it did look like an 8.

Innocent question

Levi asked, "Mom, when I am 5 will I have big hairs on my face?"

Papa, do you think I'm odd?

I just love my Dad. Happy Father's Day to you!!! Thank you for always providing for our family and for Mom. Thank you for bailing us out when we needed help (financially, with math homework, for stake dances, crashed cars, etc). Thank you for sharing your love of music with us kids and teaching us that musicals are the coolest things ever! Thank you for quietly being a support through everything in my life. Thanks for being the greatest Dad in the whole world. I love you Dadu!!

Just stuff...

This is what we've been up to. Dylan likes confined spaces. He is sitting in this toy container. Looks cozy! Below is Daddy getting his father's day present from the boys. It's legos.
This is Levi and Dylan fighting over who was going to carry the present. Look at Dylan's mad face-- this is a very common Dylan look. They were supposed to be handing it to Matt together.

Happy Father's Day, Matthew. You are an excellent husband and Dad. We all love you!
Boxes are good for so many things.
Amazing what the imagination can do. All they need is a cardboard box...

At least it was fun

I really enjoy tempera paints (especially the washable kind). They are great for windows and whatever. Today we thought we'd paint styrofoam. Levi was very clean and quite the expert on painting. Dylan, on the other hand, immediately painted his body. I am glad they took their shirts off first.

Dylan did end up eating some of the paint while I was grabbing napkins and wipes.

After that project they took two baths. The first one was to wash the paint off Dylan. After I drained the orange/brown water, I refilled it for bath #2. I love having boys.

Levi has the spins.

Levi woke up from his nap at preschool and told his teacher that he has the spins. The world is "going around and around and around". After I picked him up, he continued to tell me that his head is spinning around and he needs some medicine for the spins. He then stayed on the couch for the remainder of the evening. I hope he feels better.

Gestational Diabetes

And here I thought I was having my first "normal" pregnancy...

Just took the first glucose test. I am supposed to have results under 139 (something). Well, mine was 158, so now I have to endure a 3 hour glucose test and have blood drawn every hour to see if I really am diabetic. This really stresses me out a little bit. Why?? Because usually gestational diabetes turns into Type II diabetes AND... I think that diabetes is the worst disease to have. Giving yourself shots. Limiting your sugar. Ending up with your body not functioning right.

I have always feared this. So, I am going to try to exercise more and eat less sugar so that my next test doesn't end up positive for gestational diabetes.

For those of you out there who have had it, do you have any suggestions or comments on the subject?? Thank you!!

Good question

We were at the store getting a Father's Day present for Matt. Levi asked me, "Hey Mom, When is Kid's Day?"

I let him know that it's pretty much everyday.

Levi's Artwork

Last night Levi and I played with the buttons. Thanks to grandma, we have a large tin full of different sizes and colors of buttons. It's rather time consuming to have Levi (or any child) count out a certain number of a certain color, or sort them in any way. After we did that Levi made art.
This is his beautiful rainbow, complete with clouds!

He is hard at work designing this masterpiece!

Ta Da!! A scary bear, complete with teeth (they are the sparkly buttons inside the black circle mouth). Tonight we are going to make a race car!
